When your school is ready to start a new school year, you can start the process by transitioning the school year. Transitioning the school year will reset your students' points, reset your Leaderboard and increment your current school year. Only use this feature when your school is starting a new school year. If you want to reset your school's points for the quarter or another period shorter than the school year, use our Competitions feature, which you can read about . Once the school year is transitioned the action cannot be undone.
To start the transition process click the blue Transition School Year button
If you are sure your school is ready to transition click Confirm
Once your school has transitioned the school year the option to promote students will be available. The Promote Students process allows you to retain, archive and promote students to the next grade level.
To start the promotion process click the blue Promote Students button
For safety measures, check the provided list of students and their grade levels and make sure they are not already promoted. If you want to proceed, enter the blue security code into the text input and click Confirm
By default, all students are set to be promoted to the next grade level. You may change the action for each student on the right side of the table under the Action column. The actions are defined as:
Promote: advances a student to their next grade level
Retain: maintains a student at their current grade level
Archive: removes a student from your active students list
Once confirmed you will be redirected to the main page where you can view the numbers for students Promoted, Retained and Departed. A Departed student is one who has transitioned past your school's highest grade level
If the counts look incorrect and changes need to be made the option to Revert the promotion is available until the first point has been assigned for the new school year
To Revert press the blue Revert button and confirm this decision. All students will be reverted to their previous grade level and the Promote students button will be available to start the process again
